I love the ACEIA-Málaga conference. It’s a friendly event, with lots of familiar faces and plenty of time to catch up with people over a drink. This year, I gave a presentation on using EdTech in the classroom and also participated in the new format of focussed threads.
The thread on teaching teens was really interesting and the three of us who presented gave complimentary talks, able to refer to each other’s without repeating ideas, despite not having been in contact beforehand! Scott Donald shared practical ideas on dealing with troublesome teens and Claire Potter talked about motivating teens. I rounded off the thread with some activities to encourage personalisation of the teen classroom and then we finished with questions and thoughts from the audience.
This new format was a wonderful way to end an already fun morning. It made the time after the coffee break dynamic and gave participants the opportunity to hear from a wider range of voices with classroom experiences.
Congratulations to all the organisers for another successful event!
